A Letter of Gratitude, An Opportunity to Bless

It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly God works in our lives.
As parents we aspire to teach our children that being a Jesus-style servant means to look to our Lord as our guide, our example, and our strength; remembering to take the focus off of our needs and put others first. Jesus’ life was so full of beautiful examples of this - He healed the sick, washed the feet of his friends, took time out of his ministry to listen and hold children - and then He died on a cross for the sins of the world.
I would like to share a letter that Robb King sent to me in order to thank The Crossing family for our help in harvesting their wheat field and baling hay. Here is Robb's letter in its entirety:
Hey fellow Christ followers,
Just wanted to take a moment to update our church families & to say a BIG thanks to those of you who came out to KING Farms over the course of several days in July to lend a hand with this year's wheat/straw baling harvest.  As you probably know this year’s harvest season has had several challenging moments for us to accomplish the tasks at hand because of the continual rain event we have had.  Because of the hours given by many individuals, we were able to achieve success in harvesting the grain, baling a little over 5,500 bales of straw and also finished planting that same 95 acres with soybeans on Saturday August 1st.
I must say I saw the hand of GOD work another MIRACLE with this year’s harvest (OH how I love Miracles - they are awesome to see and awesome to be a part of).  My brother-in-law, Ron, and I found that throughout the overwhelming challenges that our weather presented in getting this year’s wheat crop harvested & the straw baled that we had very small windows of opportunity to get large volumes of work accomplished in a small amount of time and we couldn’t have been successful without GOD providing for us the hands & feet of 25 individuals.  We are grateful for the Body of Christ, our extended family & individuals hired for the role each play in allowing GOD to work through them.
This year’s harvest took a total of well over 366 labor hrs. and the involvement of 25 individuals to accomplish these tasks during that 7 day time period that stretched over 3 weeks.  Of which 117.75 hours were donated by 14 individuals (in no particular order) Kenny Hudson, Gary Pringle, Sherry Pringle, Jay Phillips, Joe Harrison, Zac Manon, Mark Walker, Kenny White, Bill Bockhorst, Jason West, Kenny West, Craig Swinteck, Cassie Dingo & Fred Hannah.
On behalf of KING Farms and the donated efforts, energy and time of the 14 individuals/hours given to the success of this project,  our family will recognize the value of combined labor by providing a check to the Crossing Church, Eastside Christian Church & the New Richmond Nazarene Church.
For those of you that were able to come out to the farm, if hope that in the future when you come across scriptures that talk about the soil, seed or harvest that it would become more alive to YOU in its meaning and GOD's call upon YOUR life.  I also hope that you found the experience to be somewhat enjoyable and that you grew your personal knowledge of agriculture locally and worldwide.

JOHN 12:24-26 (NLT) I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
As one of the people who had the opportunity to participate in helping, I never could have imagined how God could multiply the blessings received by people coming together with the intent of serving another.
Not only was the King/Lukemire family blessed by getting their crop harvested and having straw on hand to sell, but we were equally blessed through the fellowship, hard work, relationships, and learning we received about farming and agriculture. Who don't know how many individuals/families will be blessed through the King's and Lukemire's financial offering to The Crossing, Eastside Christian Church, and The New Richmond Nazarene Church. Those blessings keep multiplying exponentially.
My point is whenever we do things in service to others and try to exemplify Christ's love, God will bless those efforts beyond anything that our finite human minds can comprehend.
Since we are a portable church, we have opportunities to serve with one another every week. From setting up and tearing down, to serving in the various areas of family ministry, being a part of our First Impression Team, taking an active part in our worship ministry, coffee ministry, or audio/visual technical support, you have the opportunity to make The Crossing as warm and inviting as possible for people in our community to start a loving/lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.
Feel free to contact anyone of our staff members to help you get plugged in!
